About us

Physical discipline has been shown to affect children long after the event. What seems like a useful tool to teach our children boundaries, can in fact leave behind marks that last their entire lives. For instance, adults that experience physical punishment as children are more likely to develop low self-esteem, mental health issues, have trouble with relationships throughout life.

Typically, a parent does not want to cause ever-lasting harm to their children. But how do we teach our children to be better when we ourselves have not been taught any other way to do so. And this is how our parents taught us right from wrong, so why can’t we do the same?

Because ultimately, we want to be better, we want children to learn AND feel safe and cared for. Evidence shows that physical discipline ultimately does not do this.

Vision

We hope we can offer insight for families into the rules and regulations of physical discipline in the UK, and why alternatives can encourage a healthier family environment and reduce the long term emotional impact on the adult that will develop.

We also hope to offer professionals insight into the barriers faced by families new to the UK when attempting to ban physical discipline, in order to provide more holistic support and better outcomes. All courses are CPD accredited.
